Polycarbonate, or PC, is an amorphous polymer containing carbonate groups in the chemical structure allowing it to be strong, durable, scratch resistant, impact resistant, and demonstrate many beneficial optical properties such as transparency. Polycarbonate is very tough at low temperatures, allowing it to be used in many tough applications such as safety helmets.
